Amazing! I just found out today that I’ve been nominated as a ‘Hot 20 Under 40′ according to the folks at 7×7 Magazine here in San Francisco. This is an annual readers choice contest that highlights people doing ‘good’ in SF. There are three rounds of voting to go through, and honestly, I’d be happy just to get to the next round! Mark your calendars as Collective Good hosts Cause for Drinks on August 11th at 111 Minna Gallery in SF.

All donations that night will be going to The Imagine Bus Project, an arts education organization that addresses the lack of visual arts programming in kindergarten through 12th grade by providing arts education to underserved children and youth in partnership with local school districts, juvenile detention centers, after school programs and community based youth organizations throughout the Bay Area.

In addition to the art on the walls, we’ll have some friends joining us…

Holiday Matinee // Holiday Matinee is a blog for creative inspiration. They’ll be setting up a pop-up shop featuring their full line of optimistic books, notepads, t-shirts and stationery. So bring some cash and get in on the creative optimism.

Sezio // This amazing bunch of people provide resources, exposure, and community support to artists and musicians through a variety of new media, events, retail and community programs. They’ll be bringing their silkscreens, ink and blank tees to do some live screen printing! 50% from the sale of each t-shirt from Sezio will go to our charity of the evening, The Incredible Bus Project.

Peasants & Travelers // Jee Kim brings her SF-based luggage and bag design company to the party where she’ll be selling her goods, as well as talking about her recent partnership with Swiss born artist and producer Romanowski for a silent auction benefiting Doctors Without Borders. P&T donated 17 doctor’s bags in white canvas. Each artist was allowed full reign to paint, sculpt, or sew on the popular P&T doctor’s bag. These 17 one-of-a-kind bags were auctioned off in a silent charity auction where they raised $3100!

Other things to note…We’ll be rocking the Collective Good Photobooth which can fit a lot of people  (Apparently 19 have squeezed inside at once). We’re also working on getting some SF food carts to show up, so stay tuned for more information on who is going to help fill our bellies after drinking for such a good cause.

I first want to thank the amazing people at Sezio for letting me hang out in their living room, aka their booth during the recent San Francisco Thread Show. I also want to thank all of the amazing people who stopped by the booth to say hello and show support for Collective Good. The show wasn’t as crazy as the previous Thread shows I’ve attended, but this was my first where I was in the booth, and not an attendee. I want to give a shout out to Jee Kim, who was selling her bags a few booths away. Jee is the brains behind Peasents & Travelers, which creates functional, fashionable, well-designed travel bags. So the next time you’re thinking of buying that boring black leather Kenneth Cole bag, consider something a little more exciting from Peasents & Travelers. Check out the pictures after the jump.

This weekend Collective Good will be hanging out in the Sezio booth at the Thread Show in San Francisco. Sezio is a non-profit artists’ organization. They provide resources, exposure and community support to artists and musicians through a variety of new media, events, retail and community programs. For more info check out their site.
