Charity Water Celebrates Five Years

Charity Water turns five this month and they’re renewing their pledge to get more clean water to those that need it most. Their new September 2011 campaign focuses on raising money to buy a second FS-@270 drilling rig along with some other machines to accelerate the process of getting clean water to people in northern Ethiopia. Check out their new video, and consider making a donation.

Designer Viktor Hertz came up with a series of ‘honest logos’ revealing the true nature of the brands. I have to admit, a lot of these are totally on target. What do you think?

Chrome for a Cause

Are you like me and open a ton of tabs in a single browser window? Well now you can turn your Internet addiction into something good for the holiday season. Google Chrome users can download the Chrome for a Cause browser extension, and each tab they open throughout the day results in Google contributing to a worthy cause. At the end of each day, users choose which charity they’d like to contribute. Some of the charities include The Nature Conservancy, charity: water, Doctors Without Borders, Un Techo para mi País and Room to Read.

San Francisco Thread Show

This weekend Collective Good will be hanging out in the Sezio booth at the Thread Show in San Francisco. Sezio is a non-profit artists’ organization. They provide resources, exposure and community support to artists and musicians through a variety of new media, events, retail and community programs. For more info check out their site. Sezio will be hosting a screen-printing lounge so swing by, say hello, and get a shirt. Details after the jump.

Today is World AIDS Day

Today is World AIDS Day, so get off your butt and do something. CAMFED is a nonprofit that fights poverty and AIDS in Africa by educating girls and young women. In 2004, they trained 23 girls and women in Northern Zambia to use movie cameras and make a documentary titled Where the Water Meets the Sky. And with narration by Morgan Freeman, you can’t go wrong.
